Bergdahl: Did he desert his troops?

The Army will conduct "a comprehensive, coordinated" review into the case of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl - the recently freed soldier who some have deemed a hero, others a deserter - the military branch's civilian leader announced Tuesday.

Secretary of the Army John McHugh began a statement on Bergdahl's case by saying that "we are grateful that an American soldier is back in American hands" and insisting "our first priority is ensuring Sgt. Bergdahl's health and beginning his reintegration process." Full story

Think about it...the guy disspeared, but had no charges of desertion surface, then we trade 5 high level Taliban to get him back? I think there is A LOT more to this than our government is telling us. I'm not saying he did or didn't walk out, but there is no logical reason why things are going the way they are based on the information we have. It doesn't add up.

Can you hear that whirring sound? It's the liberal media trying to put a spin on the truth in order for Obama to save face at a decision that showed appalling lack of judgment. There were other ways to accomplish the goal of bringing this guy home (even though he perhaps didn't deserve to be).

As a former member of the US Army 10th Mountain Division, I can be the first to state, all Soldiers guilty of desertion or under investigation of desertion leave a trail of military documentation for Court Martial in the after math of such a charge. I find it extremely interesting the Army had no ongoing Court Martial investigation after Bergdahl went missing. This suggests the desertion accusation never surfaced until after his return. This further suggests the accusation of desertion has been politically motivated by Republicans.

He is a Deserter, Liberals are idiots to think otherwise the clown negotiates with terroists and then claims this country doesn't do that, then say at the end of every conflict this happens, but the Taliban haven't signed any papers to indicate this is the case, Susan Rice opens her mouth and "stupidity " comes out, and we should believe this guy ? This guy is a deserter and needs to treated as such.

It was RS article claiming he deserted (in 2012). Also, military was told to keep quiet on this matter. I don't think they expected to it to come to the public's attention. As a matter of a fact, they tried to muff all info about this guy, Bowe.

The guy is a deserter, and a coward, to attempt to justify and "run past" the "undeniable" evidence based on what the guys in his outfit are saying there is no question he is exactly what everyone says. Republicans ? That has nothing to do with it period. Don`t embarrass yourself by interjecting that into the discussion

  3. No need to investigate

The Army doesn't need to investigate. Those people at Faux news have already tried and convicted him. They MUST have all the facts already. Just ask them. /sarcasm off/.

Larry Korb is the poster child for "cognitive dissonance". Van Jones went to the same "straw man" class that President Obama attended. This should not be about how loudly we debate or how cleverly we set our word traps- it should be about truth. Using words like "operatives" or screaming about your military service will not get us there. Sincere people have questions and concerns about Bergdahl and his service.

What happened to the right innocent until proven guilty. I for one am tired of all the fear tactics used by the political parties use. They wonder why the American people have so little faith in there government. It's time we got out of Afganistan and Iraq and pay attention to North Korea, China, Russia and Iran. 9-11 was Saudis but they were slapped on wrist. You can't make countries democratic when they don't want to be. We need to take care of our own people and quit tanking our economy with wars with countries we don't understand there way of life or there beliefs as they don't understand ours. It's time our government needs to take care of its own people. All people need to learn to live in peace and learn to forgive one another. I'll never see it in my lifetime though and that is sad. Both political parties need to grow up and quit trying to one up each other.

The diatribe that Larry Korb tried to push on Crossfire has got to be one of the most ludicrous and ignorant of all I have seen. I don't care if anyone is left or right, but that they seek truth. A debate can not achieve any results of meaning with the idiocy and babble spouted like that of Larry tonight. It is senseless to include him in any discussions on this issue going forward.

During WWII we shot deserters. Can anyone imagine us trading five high level Nazi's for a deserter we would have shot?

There are SIX soldiers who died trying to locate this guy who is described as "serving with honor and distinction" by the Obama people.

No wonder people think Obama is incompetent. It is because he is.
