The selfie is more than a silly teenage trend. It's the millennial calling card: they can do it better themselves.

As a teenager, I'd have to say that the whole entire "selfie" thing is just being over analyzed. I personally do believe that my generation is self-absorbed and that much is true. Yet, I'm more than positive that the "selfie" it's self isn't pure egocentricity. I'm sure the selfie pretty much originated from when people took cameras and snapped a picture of themselves for their Myspace profile picture because no one else was around to take the picture for them. Then the iPhone soon had the front camera and taking a picture of yourself in the mirror became less of a thing: you could do it with your phone without someone making a weird comment about your bathroom walls. As time grew on, we started calling it a "selfie" and it became more of a hobby than just an action.
On the other hand, this generation is still completely self-absorbed but quite ambitious.
Selfie equals selfish and egocentric.
I can barely stand to listen to this person that uses dialect, intonation, and fractured English as though she were 5. But, this is the new trend in press – buxom, silly-sounding women paired with middle-aged has beens.
"Selfies" are not something to regard as having actual value – but I'm sure this female was paid a massive sum for her self-aggrandizing solo performance.
Well done, CNN.
You're corporation, like most American media, is keeping our kids educated and well-informed on things that matter like Selfies, or that it is far more important to sound like you have no sense and to act like an imbecile if you are female, all things that are absolutely meaningless.
I really do wish your corporate entity would shut down.
I really, really do.
Because you negatively influence so very many people on this planet and hit them over the head with misinformation to reduce them and cause them to feel that they are inadequate, unable to meet your mark of perceived quality – whatever that quality is.
Sad.
there was another ME generation (70s) and look what it got us – the 80s!. the most self-serving, self important, community destructive generation I have seen. the 80s brought us Reaganomics and the beginning of the middle class melt down. people were too interested in what they could get that the middle class split into upper and lower. now that we've seen the gap widen, we have a new self motivated generation that will further divide that gap.
I really miss people like Roosevelt, Carnegie, Johnson, Truman. Powerful people that looked down and saw that they did NOT get to the top alone and that the common man is JUST as important as the erudite. They gave back to the community that made them who they were, not just sit and wallow in it and try to make the world YOUR personal playground. a fine example of ME thinking is the Koch boys and their fabulous father. remember this quote: "The colored man looms large in the Communist plan to take over America" ? They made their money by raping Russian soil. The co-op important issues and burry them deep in misdirection, misinformation, and obfuscation. Think tea party and occupy wall street (where's the rage we had?) yeah, these cats have your best interest at heart and the money to make you think that's true! Do we really want a whole generation like these twats?
"We do it better", eh? seriously? fine, show us with action not portraits.
I miss my grandfather – he was without doubt, one of the most "Selfless" persons I have ever known – consummate gentleman with his wife, treated everyone with respect, and did not beg for anything.
I have never met any other man like him.
Be selfless – not a selfie.

They man RAN to Russia to rape their soils of oil, yet he despised their way of life. remember this quote: "The colored man looms large in the Communist plan to take over America" ? using personal moneys to co-op important issue groups and burry them deep in misdirection, misinformation, and obfuscation. "We do it better", eh? seriously? fine, SHOW US.
WITHOUT your parents' money? Seriously doubt that, "darlings"!
Definitely; selfie generation does narcissm and entitlement better than any other.
Selifie Destruction
Selfie Destruction Lol
Interesting interpretation and outlook to the selfie explosion.
The GOP Prayer/Mantra/Solution: Dear God...With your loving kindness, help us to turn all the Old, Sick, Poor, Non-white, Non-christian, Female, and Gay people into slaves. Then, with your guidance and compassion, we will whip them until they are Young, Healthy, Rich, White, Christian, Male, and Straight. Or until they are dead. God...Grant us the knowledge to then turn them into Soylent Green to feed the military during the next "unfunded/off-the-books" war. God...Give us the strength during our speeches to repeatedly yell........TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH!!!..........and........GET RID OF SS AND MEDICARE!!!
In your name we prey (purposely misspelled, or is it?)........Amen
Could not have put that any better. Amen
Don't worry, Obama is in charge, all your dreams will come true. Don't be jealous!
Pretty much all in your head. Normal liberal delusion to keep the fantasy utopia alive. Why don't you just out yourself as a brain deficient, logic stranger, wannabee anything but who you are.
You are a liar.
All I have seen are light toned persons losing everything, my friend. Better recheck your statement.
Of course...why would you speak such things of hate as this under this news article?
Strange.
Best to put the hate card down in front of my eyes, Sir – I keep copies of everything and it is traceable by subpoena in the United States.
Still copy/pasting hate, this one is getting old!
You should take a few days off and try to come up with a new one. I'm sure it will take you time but that's OK because all of your rants are meaningless anyway.
