Phillips: Republicans will be held accountable for this deal

Tonight on Crossfire: Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity, said his organization has spent roughly 15 million dollars holding Democrats accountable for Obamacare and he plans to hold Republicans just as accountable for this budget deal.

Do you agree with him? Or were you siding with Democratic strategist Paul Begala during the debate?

just remember the newly elected (Tea Party Patriots if you will) are responsible for the sequester, the only cut back on spending, wrong or right cutbacks that is…but, responsible spending cut backs. It's prudent to not shut things down to just make a point…they have done that and it is noted. So, cruise along and let the leftist continue to do as they have done for 5 years and suffer the consequences…domestically the economy grows, particularly the energy sector (not because the left lent a hand here) and our foreign policy is a total mess from libya to the Saudis, from china to russia…and this failure could easily sink the world economy over night…..let obama and company stew in their own hot water.

You need serious help but I must admit, you sound like a typical Lib and Obama supporter. All you can do is blame other for your hero's failures and when that doesn't work you resort to name call. Truly pathetic

Please do your homework, Obama came up with the sequester and insisted it was the right thing to do.

Our leaders are supposed to be elected by the Citizens of the United States of America to represent the interests of those citizens and the country itself. – They are NOT supposed to be elected by the Global Market Place, Lobbyist or Foreign citizens!

Over the past 2-3 decades, both parties have sold out the bulk of the American citizens, who they're supposed to represent, by allowing the incursion of illegal aliens (cheap labor) and the "out-sourcing" floodgates to open wider and wider without taking any sensible measures to stem the tide.

But, let's face it – Neither party is actually running our country – Powerful puppet-masters play both sides to make sure that they get what they want. Unfortunately what they want is not usually in the best interest of the majority of the American people. (American citizens)

But aren't there at least a handful of these frigging puppet-masters that are fellow Americans with enough of a conscience, guts and loyalty to America and their fellow Americans to start trying to turn this trend around?

Bring back businesses and jobs to income-taxing-paying American citizens and the rest will take care of itself.

The GOP Solution: Turn all the Old, Sick, Poor, Non-white, Non-christian, Female, and Gay people into slaves. Then whip them until they are Young, Healthy, Rich, White, Christian, Male, and Straight. Or until they are dead. Then turn them into Soylent Green to feed the military during the next "unfunded/off-the-books" war. And don't forget the GOP all time favorite..........TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH!!!!!!

I wish the outside interest groups and lobbyist would choke to death. They are running this nation instead of the real people. They have taken away our votes with there big contributions to the law makers. It is time congress passes some laws against them.

The tea party actually helped deliver us to perhaps a more balanced place. The tea party being as staunch in their belief as the far left caused a gridlock that has emboldened the middle to speak up. This gives those in Washington the cover to compromise and move toward the middle. That would be the place most say they wish to be. The tea party has essentially acted as a check and balance and I thank them for that.

you know, I have no problem voting republican, but they've given me no one worth voting for in recent memory. I would have liked to have seen Huntsman on last election's ticket, but nope, he's a rino. quick question–if you start calling everyone a rino who doesn't agree 100% w u on everything, then who does that leave left?

No doubt the Liberal's are totally responsible for "Obama Care" No doubt the Liberal's are responsible for the 17 Trillion Dollar Federal Debt. No doubt they will tell every lie in the book to blame the Conservative's. No doubt the people voted for most of this over the last 100 years. It's like being in the middle of the river. You either reverse course or continue forward. Thanks to Big Liberal Policies the country is in a huge mess. Murphy's law is alive and well.

Strategy....how has that 15 million dollars holding Democrats accountable for Obamacare worked for you? We are tired of ALL of these people who only think one way. We need to move on, let Dems fall on their face with OBTax. Then wim elections with CONSERVATIVES in 2014.

John Boehner needs to be given credit. What he is doing is impressive, even heroic. He is standing up to the “conservative” powers, those I call “the money”, those who hide behind the term “conservative” as they seek to use their extensive power, influence and money to own and control politicians, to control government and to thereby perpetuate their advantage to continually feed their insatiable “more” (never enough) appetite, without ever having any conscience for anything else. In this instance Boehner has declared that the country is more important to him than their power; that is significant.

Can Boehner keep this up ... will he keep it up ... will others join him? All important questions and it is therefore an interesting and informative time. It will now be obvious whether Boehner keeps it up, who will join him and who will subserviently just continue to be the “puppets” dutifully doing the “conservative” / “the money’s” bidding. The challenge Boehner and anyone else has in putting the country, the majority above “the money” is formidable, as their power, influence and mega-bucks are very significant and undoubtedly they will “double down” to protect and maintain their control. To go against them means they will go against you and as Norquist declared, “they can make or break anyone”. There are the likes of the Koch brothers, Adelson, SuperPacs and several others who make up “the money’s” core and then many who do “the money’s” bidding, who are the “puppets” performing as their “strings are pulled”, with the very obvious being Cruz, Cantor, GWBush, Cheney, Rove, Perry, Palin, Limbaugh and really many more. It will be very interesting to watch. It has been said that today’s Republican / Tea Party is owned and controlled by “the money” and therefore incapable of honestly and responsibly governing for the people; could we be seeing that change?
