Kristol: Obama not tough on Iran

Conservative columnist Bill Kristol tells Crossfire's Van Jones that he's living in an alternate universe if he thinks the Obama administration has been tough on Iran.

That's odd. I searched for William Kristol's military service and didn't find anything but his jovial comments to Cobert. It seems he has always been a strong proponent of war – as long as other people are doing the fighting. He certainly "missed" his chance to serve in Viet Nam.

CNN needs to read Fox news report--Iran and Afghanistan just signed an agreement with each other????? hello obama. all you have done is let the world fall apart while you lie to promote obamacare-GONE WITH THE WIND. Wait until obama finds out about the iran/afghanistan agreement in the paper tomorrow.

Obama will tell us that he know nothing about this until he saw it in the paper; just like most of the other issues of the day.

Just why should Obama be tough on Iran? Israel goes on taking the West Bank one house at a time, so why should they want to negotiate?

Yes, Kristol has so much credibility on his expertise and accuracy of his analysis on foreign affairs, especially as it relates to the Middle East. How does someone who has his track record of always being wrong still get on the air to share his views?

21 sec video clip. You actually take just 21 sec of an interview to try and prove a point? Really? Just curious what he said during the remainder 700+ secs of that interview?

Kristol: Obama not tough on Iran

Let's look at how it's been done in the past, shall we?
Option A: Being "tough on Iran," no talking and endless sanctions and saber rattling.
    Conclusion: Hostile relations

Option B: Hey, maybe we can sit down and talk. Your nuclear weapons are kinda a bad idea – I know you want them, but if you ever use them, we'll blow the shit out of you. So it's not a good plan. Let's discuss – respectfully – about civil power usage, holding off on the weapons program, and maybe not being such dicks to each other. Cool?
    Conclusion: nuclear agreement.

    I guess 80% is the new 100%

Please don't celebrate or brag on doing anything 80%. It's embarrassing for you to say and for us to hear. I would undoubtedly be terminated should I say "hey boss, can we just focus on the 80% work that I did get done?"

You know what, maybe its high time the GOP and the neo cons get their heads out of their behinds. My top ten reasons why GOP and the neocons are still stuck in 1983:1. They still believe that some Ronald Reagan like figure still exists out there. 2. They believe that white men should hold the highest office in the country. 3. They still believe Iran is a threat. 4.They believe we should continue to grow Defense and not worry about deficits. 5. They still believe that welfare queens still exist. 6.They believe we should still give tax breaks to the wealthy and ubber rich. 7. They think banks and corporations are the job creators. 8. Would be the wealthy create jobs. 9. They believe trickle down economics is the answer. 10. They believe that we should still be involved in the middle east indefinitely. I got news for you Neo-Cons and GOP, and before you all sputter off I am liberal which I am not, I am independent moderate, its not 1983 anymore!!! Its 2013!!! Get with the freakin program!!! and give it a chance. You may find that Iran is really saying what their meant to and not doing us any harm and besides Al Qaeda is taking care of the business of spanking of the Iranians when it comes to Syria. Let the countries and neighboring countries in the middle east deal with their problems and let us deal with our own!! We done our time and its time to pack it in and take care of problems at home. We owe nobody anything. Good day and god bless America!!!

Tough does not work on Iran, who has proven they will hurt their own to get their way. We need to try some diplomacy. Do what does not work is both stupid and arrogant, which is why the GOP insists upon it.

Did you ever notice that the GOP guys are generally all for war to settle thorny, dangerous situations? Did you also notice that none of them are young enough to join a fight? It's always wise to check donations to them by defense contractors to discover their true motivatio

Susan, the military is accepting women now for combat jobs. (?) I got shot in Korea in 1953 and I didn't like it! Obama is trying to stop two wars he did not start. W. started two wars he could not stop! Just how do you define weak?

As a Vietnam veteran I am appalled by the likes of Bill Crystal who advocate war as the solution to international problems while never having been to war himself. He belongs in the same chicken coop with his fellow chicken hawks like George W. Bush and Dick Cheny

KyHa got it right. Korea 1953, been there done that. Just when did Iran become a threat to the U.S or anyone else? We confuse ourselves with our own propaganda. Iran is a political and economic threat to Israel. Certainly not a military threat to a country with over two hundred atomic weapons. We define ourselves with our fears.

It really amuses me how these conservative people like to talk tough but, you can bet the house that neither them or their sons would ever step on the frontline of the wars they're always happy to have. Look, all I have to know about President Obama is that he said he would hunt down Bin Laden and he did. That lays to rest the question of toughness, as far as I'm concerned.

Israel is no more trustworthy than the Saudis. Both have a vested interest in hostilities w/Iran, U S military aid. Both always want the U S to do all the heavy lifting while they sit back and betray us whenever it suits them. We still have not received a viable explanation of an 1 1/2 hour long Israeli military attack that killed 20+ U S sailors on the USS Liberty, and Bin Laden(and most of the 911 attackers) were Saudis.

I know the TEA/GOP, want war w/Iran, but the polls show real Americans are fed up w/their war mongering. This is the first step in what will be long hard bargaining. We got a 6 month freeze in Iran's nuke program, they got $7 billion of the money we have held since we froze Iranian assets after the embassy take over. Dana Milbanks has an excellent article about how Ari Fliescher, and other TEA/GOP were complaining about the agreement before any details were released. TEA/GOP temper tantrums and President Obama hating, have reached the point of outright treason. Compared to the elimination of Bin Laden, most of Al Qaida's senior leadership, rescue of Capt. Phillips, ect., ect., W's foreign policy accomplishments are just a stinking pile of lies and corruption.

Most of these hawks never, not EVER, picked up a gun and went over to fight th soup du jour war of they day they want to fight. Cheney, Mr. Hawk, deferred so many times from serving this country, he set a record. They all want to fight with someone else's skin in the game. NEVER, these cowards step into the ring. They tap out only then.

You must be mistaking Newt for anything but a political hack growing rich by fooling TEA/GOP to throw money at him. As for blabbing the whole time away, you must not have seen the TEA/GOP use that tactic since the staged town hall meetings the TEA trash came to disrupt. As for interrupting, you must not have seen much of cluster Fox interviewing patriotic liberals.
