Jones: America looks weak because of GOP

Van Jones says America looks weak because we have an opposition party who won't help the President. Newt Gingrich debates.

Gingrich: Bush was wrong about Putin
Newt Gingrich says Bush was wrong to think Putin has "changed" and says he has always been this way.

How do we control Putin?
Crossfire guests Senator Ron Johnson and Rep. Karen Bass debate how the President should be handling Vladimir Putin.

Jones: Racism extends beyond Sterling

Van Jones is outraged that people are only outraged about Don Sterling's comments when the racism in sports is apparent.

tSCHRNY WOLF Guffaws to you:) President Obama inherited a deep recession and growing unemployment, plus seriour damage to welfare and no insurance for 97% of Americans walker bush cheated you!

This recession is (continuing because of Obamas policies) due to the democrats wanting to give affordable (ever heard that word before) housing to people who couldn't afford it. Mortgage, insurance, utilities, upkeep then OH ****, now what, a housing bubble that burst.
DAMAGE TO WELFARE? YOU REALLY ARE CLUELESS!
WHERE IN HAIL(sic) DID YOU GET THAT STUPID 97% NO INSURANCE BS.

The US appears weak entirely because of obama. His lies, obfuscations, red lines in the sand and idle threats have made him, and the rest of us, a global laughing stock.

But the blacks just have to find somebody – anybody – else to blame for obama's misfeasance. It's what they do.

North Korea restarted their nuke program, Iran stepped-up their nuke program, and Putin moved on Georgia. All after the neocon chicken hawks proved they didn't have the stomach to go into the Tora Bora rats' nest and clean out Al Qaida, and the Taliban, when we had them cornered. By refusing to slug it out yard by yard, Bush proved the USA unwilling to make the sacrifices needed to achieve battlefield victory. That is the weekness this article correctly places the blame on the GOP for.

In my opinion think America has been "weak" for a long time, although not just from our GOP. I do think America is very much so a "weak" nation because our nation's people are divided on almost every important issue -increasingly more so than other countries- (gay rights, education, firearm restrictions, wages, need I go on?), we are one of the least healthiest developed nations in the world (Though thankfully we (the nation as a general whole.) are finally changing that.), we go into wars for people who don't want our troops on THEIR LAND, have no real reason to go to war, or blow things out of proportion ( *Cough* 9/11), our economy is failing, we're are in exponentially increasing debt (the US debt increases on an average of 2.4 BILLION dollars per DAY), our prison population (since 1997) has been drastically increasing yet the crime rate has been rapidly decreasing, these are a small few of the many reasons I think America is speeding towards self-corruption and that the situation may already be irreversible.

Actually, the founders, most of them conservatives, set up a defective Constituion that allowed human slavery and a set up a capitalist system that opresed the workers, including the working middle class. The emancipation war freedom was good, but conservative racism started again later, this time in a very abusive and terror way. The evil KKK raises its ugly head and assassinated and torture minorities, especially Americans of African ancestry :(((((((((((((((((( Many of its supporters were extremist conservative republicans. I think the civil war was plotted by the gop in order to show they were not racists. That was a total lie. The lack of civil rights for dark voters and other minorities, like women confirm my thinking. It was until the great Dr. Martin Luther King that African Americans could vote and got civil freedoms. However ha paid with his life :( Also his supporters: JFKennedy, Robert Kennedy, Malcolm X were sacrificed by crazy conservative loons :( Now the ruthless john boehner, fakes creating jobs, in spite he approved job outsourcing to Asia.! Does he think, we the people are stupid? Some may say that he changed. That is crap. Hids recent cancellation of unemployment benefits shows he DOES NOT CARE AT ALL TO HELP THE UNEMPLOYED .

Most likely, he and his elite will hire more workers, but it will not last after the elections. He wants jobless Americans to vote for his party, but once he fools those people, his use of them will cease. I hope I am wrong, but he should sign a contract swearing he will not fire them later.

LOL, typical of Obama supporters, blame the other guy. America looks weak because Obama is a divisive, incompetent president. He set the tone for his working with republicans with his very public slap down of McCain, cutting him off mid sentence telling him 'elections have consequences and I won'. Michelle Obama has said publicly that she doesn't like to play games with him because he is a sore loser and a very ungracious winner.

    "America looks weak because GOP"
    – The GOP didn't lambaste Romney when he identified Russia as our greatest geopolitical foe.
    – The GOP didn't create a "red line" for al-Assad and then do nothing when he crossed it.
    – The GOP isn't at the forefront of decreasing our military to pre WWII levels.
    – The GOP didn't scrap the missile defense program in Poland.
    – The GOP didn't promise Russian leadership "more flexibility" after the 2012 elections.

No, but the GOP has; via its self serving ways, managed to divide America into white, and non-whites, into tax paying suckers, and smart tax avoiding patriots. The GOP has done more damage to America than Al Quaida ever could. Damage which the GOP perpetrated with a Bible in one hand, and an American Flag in the other.

And why are democrats up for reelection running from Obama? Differences in political views are good for a party because you gain strength in knowing which views are essential to address. You only have extreme liberal views but whether you believe it or not even democrats have conflicting views.

No,but the GOP did start two wars both of which had/have gone on longer than a decade simultaneously, seriously degrading a military establishment built around the threats and technologies of the last century,a military establishment in need of serious refit into the modern technical era.
As well, the soldiers we have been sending to do the dirty work have been not only used, but used up,lowering our standards to recruit people as old as 42yrs,the national guard,as well as gimmicks such as "stopgap" has also gone a long way in degrading our military capabilities.
We as a nation have been made impotent by the GOP.

Really? It was the GOP? Clinton started the decimation of our military and Obama has continued it. Our soldiers were getting killed in droves because Obama set ridiculous rules of engagement. Like the helicopter carrying the seal team that was flying into a hot zone and was shot down because under Obama's rules they couldn't lay down suppression fire. Most soldiers would prefer serving under Bush, at least under him our motto was 'leave no man/woman behind' under Obama it's 'stand down'.

        Hillary quote
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorist, including alqaeda members. It is clear however that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

President Obama introduced proposals that would have repaired and improved the conditions you mention. But the rigid congressional conservatives voted down the recovery proposals :( President Obama had to compromise in order to save vital programs, like food stamps, unemployment, welfare , planned Parenthood, N.A.S.A, the Food and Drug Administration and restore free meals for needy students, plus repair damaged infrastructure. If you vote for conservatives, not even part time jobs will last. "jobs the conservatives create" will not last for long after the elections, I think. Creating temporary jobs would make the unemployed vote for those who hire them, but john bohener's tune will change afterwards. He and his supporters said the jobless are lazy minorities who prefer to live under welfare and not work. Is his new policy true? I do not know. Probably it is not.

Although king Solomon has been dead 3000 years, he did write proverbs to try and caution us from making foolish decisions, but unfortunately, very few people take the time to read them so history keeps on repeating the same foolishness over and over.

The outrage of the day is that we taxpayers subsidize people like Sterling, the NFL, PGA, etc through our tax code. Many professional sports organizations are tax exempt non-profit. Most citizens do not even know that because of lousy media coverage of the finances of big time sports. Most stadiums have been built with the use of taxpayer funds to increase the wealth of billionaire team owners and millionaire athletes and coaches at the college and professional levels. It seems to me more news organizations and programs like Crossfire should and could do a better job of educating the public on the corruption of public office and subsidies to sports at the price of more critical infrastructure needs. They can start by referencing the day to day stories on the corruption of public money with sports at fieldofschemes.com.

I certainly remember his "apology tour". This is the deal, the buck stops at 1600, in the Oval Office, and at his desk. No matter what you guys say HE is the one in charge and if he can't get along, it's because of HIM. He never has reached across the aisle once in his entire career. I tried pointint out these well known facts to you in 2008 but you wouldn't listen.

Today, Obama promised natural gas exports to Europe. How can he do this? Why, because fracking for natural gas has given us an oversupply. Just think if we had the Keystone Pipeline, we could also ship oil to them. But why bother? The Euros do not want to frack in their own countries, so let them wither on the vine.

Due to a housing bubble created by democrats to give affordable housing to people who couldn't afford it; which bursted 3 months before Obama took office. Ask yourself why are we still in a recession after five plus (5)+ years. Can you say FAILED POLICIES!

We live in a country where the president used racism and hatred to get elected. Why is anyone surprised that racisim is alive and well, and in fact has increased, under the keen tutelage of barack obama?

No logic in that post! Senator John McCain lost because liberals did a good job of bashing a WOMAN vice presidential candidate and pushing hate for Bush because of the wars to which it democrats had agreed with since they had all the same information the adminstration had!

        SADLY, AMERICA LOST AS WELL!

Romney lost because of an outright lie to the American people. Do you really think he would have won had 145 million working Americans known they were being screwed by obamacare and protected by lies.

The warts are starting to show thru, Rome is Burning, the Titanic is sinking and you are serving Champagne? Anyone with half a brain knows where this country is going if we give Obama the keys to the store. The Liberals have had the keys to the store most of the time for the last 100 years. The compromise you ask for is now up to 17.6 Trillion in debt. And you want more? If the peasants are dumb (Stupid) enough to give the Liberals the keys to the store again then they are as dumb as the Liberals think they are.

Kennedy advisors Maxwell Taylor and Walt Rostow recommended that U.S. troops be sent to South Vietnam disguised as flood relief workers. Kennedy rejected the idea but increased military assistance yet again. In April 1962, John Kenneth Galbraith warned Kennedy of the "danger we shall replace the French as a colonial force in the area and bleed as the French did." [150] By 1963, there[151]

On 24 November 1963, Johnson said, "the battle against communism... must be joined... with strength and determination." [167] The pledge came at a time when the situation in South Vietnam was deteriorating, especially in places like the Mekong Delta, because of the recent coup against Diệm. [168] Johnson had reversed Kennedy's disengagement policy from Vietnam in withdrawing 1,000 troops by the end of 1963 (NSAM 263 on 11 October), [169] with his own NSAM 273 (26 November) [170][171] to expand the war.

        From wikipedia

Democrats, who would have thought, um, not you!

So, historian how was Rome and Greece destroyed? Did they have a government like ours? Was their economy based upon capitalism?

Sorry Jones, the GOP is not the controlling party nor is it in the presidency – We look weak because we have weak leadership. This starts at the top with Obama and works it way down thru both parties. With people like Jones still trying to blow a smoke screen to avoid their own failures, this won't change

Those are three good points to concentrate on. The American people were lied to by the President after the Benghazi attack in order to help is re-election campaign. We were lied to by the President again about Obamacare; not only can we not keep our plans or doctors, we are forced to purchase plans we do not want or cannot afford or pay penalties. The Keystone Pipeline would certainly help with job growth and increase our energy independence. The Dems, on the other hand, want to concentrate on divide and conquer.

He started the costly "Patriot war"; later the close links betwen the bush family and al quaida were published. I saw photos of bush senior giving shoulder to air missiles to bin laden. No wonder walker bush neglected catching bin laden after 5 years (a close adviser wrote that in his memoirs).
