BHillary could even get the DNC nomination in 2008 against an unknown 1st term congressman. Based on her actions will working with 0bama she has even less credibility today. If she couldn't win in 2008 what makes people even begin to think she can win in 2016? Heck, she won't even get the DNC nomination, and because of this, I doubt she ends up running. She is too old, too white, has far too many decades of political baggage to answer to, and has no new ideas.

She is strong, don't bet that she will not get the nomination and win!!! Look at the list of LOSERS the gop had in both 08 and 13, and so far the list for 16 is worse than before!!!

The problem in trying to elect good leaders for The United States of America has nothing to do with the color or gender of our politicians. It's our politician's, from both parties, lack of honesty and the lack of willingness to do right by the US citizens that they're elected by and should be representing.

Before Hillary Clinton runs for president, Americans need to remember that it was her "husband" that got us into bed with China in the first place. – How's that been working out for the American people and the Real American Economy?

I don't trust the Clintons at all.

It was the "Clinton Machine" that kicked the ball over to China, which got the Real American Economy rolling down the hill.

Nixon restored normal diplomatic relations between the US and China, but Clinton is the one who opened up the trade floodgates with China. And both Bill and Hillary were actively involved during their visit to China.

Under Clinton jobs to China, Under Bush I & II influx of illegals/cheap labor into the US and jobs to Mexico/NAFTA – Bush started it and it was signed into effect by Clinton. I loved President Reagan at that time, because he brought pride and respect back to our country after those embarrassingly weak Carter years, but unfortunately his shortsighted economic policy sent us down the wrong path. Reaganonomics was a huge mistake. Jeez and the wizards on Wall Street wonder why the American people aren't putting as much money into savings and their 401k plans anymore. Maybe it's because the shortsighted economic policies, from the 1980's to the present, have come back to bite the hands that feed them. I guess the thought of changing from a manufacturing based economy to a service based economy of smoke and mirrors is working out just great? – Not!

But even now President Obama is pushing a new disastrous, job-killing, "free trade" agreement on the United States under the misleading guise of increasing export opportunities. The president is asking for fast track trade authority that would give him unchallenged authority to do whatever he wants, in most cases to satisfy his campaign contributors instead of the American people. His track record proves he cannot be trusted with this kind of power. Congress must vote to deny the president fast track authority and they must refuse to pass the TPP!

The president claims this agreement will be a good thing.

In fact, the scarce details emerging from negotiations point in the opposite direction. Hundreds of corporate advisers are at the table looking for handouts for their particular industries, while average Americans are largely left in the dark. The results will surely be disastrous.

If they try sneaking another disastrous trade agreement, like this TPP deal, through they're true Traitors to the American people. And I'll bet both parties will be involved. Funny, they can work together to line their own pockets, but not to put protections in place to help the American citizens that they are supposed to represent.

The Trans Pacific Partnership must be stopped before it buries us for good.

The WTO and NAFTA have done enough damage already, but if this goes into effect, Americans are really screwed.

Let's face it – Both parties have sold out the American People! – Neither party really controls our country.

If Ross Perot had been elected president in 1992, the American people and the real American economy would have been much better off today! I and many other people, who were able to see through all of the left vs right BS, did vote for Perot, because he was straight forward and just used common sense. He cared about his country and the American people.

If more Americans would have listened to Perot back in 1992, we wouldn't be in this mess right now.

Our economic problems didn't happen overnight. It's been happening over the past 25 years, but the American economy was kept going by middle class American consumers tapping into the equity on their homes to enable them to continue to buy the cheap outsourced products until they were completely tapped out, out of good jobs and or out of work.

The so called "Global Market Place" is not a level playing field. Companies may have made higher profits by "outsourcing", but they've been putting middle class Americans who are a good part of the world's customer base out of work.

Things may have been better short term as far as stock vales and consumer spending were concerned during the Clinton administration, but that was just a Short Term Artificial boost to the economy. The Real American Economy and the Future of the American People was on it's way down hill, because of our leaders and that shortsighted Wall Street mentality selling the American Peoples Jobs Out to countries like China, India and Mexico where it's not even remotely close to a level playing field.

Trade with countries like China, India and Mexico is pretty much a One-Way-Street.

On the US Department of Commerce's US Census Bureau website there's a graphic showing how our trade imbalance has gotten progressively worse over the entire period from 1989 to the present and how it's really accelerated at an increasingly greater rate each year since 1999.

We can thank "our leaders" from both sides and the WTO for that.

        See for yourself: http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c0004.html

        www(dot)census(dot)gov(slash)foreign-trade(slash)balance(slash)c0004(dot)html

Check it out and figure it out for yourself.

If these "free trade" agreements were so good us, why did our trade deficit keep getting larger and larger during this span of time.

Increasingly way more money going out of our country every year versus coming in every year.

        It's not rocket science.

Regardless of what the Free-Traitors keep trying to sell us, we can see what's real. The American People need to just trust their own instincts, common sense and what they've seen actually going on all around them versus all of the nonsense that the free-traitors are still trying to sell us.

Foreign Lobbyists here in the US promote sending US jobs to countries like China, where they work for slave wages, no benefits, no OSHA safety standards or no real environment regulations. It also doesn't help us compete when these company's factories are subsidized by China's communist government. Just check out the current Chinese extreme pollution issues – We all live in the same world, but not every country plays by the same rules.

Countries like Germany, Canada, Japan and other countries like them are more or less on a level playing field with us. But countries like China, India, Mexico and others like them are not even close. You don't see China, India or Mexico with anything even close to our EPA, DEP, OSHA, etc................

Also most counterfeit goods are produced and manufactured in China, making it the counterfeit capital of the world. In fact, the counterfeiting industry accounts for 8% of China's GDP.

Trade with countries like China, India and Mexico is pretty much a One-Way-Street.

The “Global Market Place” is not a level playing field! The whole idea of the tariffs is so we can pay our factory workers a decent wage and not be blown out by these other countries where they don’t play by the same rules.

Nowadays it's obviously not about being either lazy or uneducated as many try to profess, but about wages, expenses and regulations that are not even remotely close to the wages, expenses and regulations in our country.

If more people would have listened to Ross Perot back in 1992, America wouldn't be in this mess.

The bottom line is that “Our Government” has to protect domestic industry and the jobs that those industries provide. If they do that, the rest will take care of itself.

We may have to pay a bit more for products made here in the USA by US citizens, but at least we'll still have jobs and a future for our children.

If you can’t say anything good about someone, you must be talking about Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton will never be President. She is one of the most hated and despised women in the country. Her hate factor is one rung below that of Nancy Pelosi. She is incompetent, has blood on her hands from the Benghazi murders of four Americans, committed perjury during the Benghazi hearings, as SOS fostered the expansion of Al Qaeda in Egypt, Libya and No. Africa and supported Morsi, the deposed head and terrorist of Egypt. She is still married to scumbag and sleazeball Bill Clinton who was guilty of adultery, perjury, impeachment and disbarment. If she is so popular, she would have won the Democratic nomination in 2008 against Obama.

She is hated by the right.

But who on the right will vote for any democrat? And what's better for her politically is that many on the far left will support her BECAUSE the right hates her so much... which allows her to take moderate positions to appeal to the center without risking here left-wing support.

Luckily the last two presidential elections proved one thing. There are not enough brainwashed people willing to vote against there best interests. Republicans are on the wrong side of almost every moral issue. The southern states will rebel against politicians who have denied the less fortunate of healthcare. Wihile the blue states are enjoying affordable healthcare, the red states that refused it will just have to watch and listen to millions of Americans who now have the gift of life.

Maybe this is why Dem's are having such a tough time......

Sen. Reid (D-NV):“In fact, one of our core principles is that if you like the health care you have, you can keep it.” (Congressional Record, S.8642, 8/3/09)

Sen. Murry (D-WA): “Again, if you like what you have, you will be able to keep it. Let me say this again: If you like what you have, when our legislation is passed and signed by the President, you will be able to keep it.” (Congressional Record, S.6400, 6/10/09)

Sen. Landrieu (D-LA): “If you like the insurance that you have, you'll be able to keep it.” (MSNBC’s Hardball, 12/16/09)

Sen. Hagan (D-NC): “We need to support the private insurance industry so that people who have insurance they're happy with can keep it (National Journal’s Congress Daily, 6/18/09)

Sen. Begich (D-AK): “If you got a doctor now, you got a medical professional you want, you get to keep that”.

Sen. Bennet (D-CO): “Start with the basic principle if you have coverage and you like it, you can keep it. If you have your doctor, and you like him or her, you should be able to keep them. We will not take that choice away from you.”

Sen. Harkin (D-IA): “One of the things we put in the health care bill when we designed it was the protection for consumers to keep the plan they have if they like it”…we said, if you like a plan, you get to keep it, and you can grandfather it in.” (Congressional Record, S.7675-6, 9/29/10)

Sen. Schumer (D-NY): “If you like your insurance, you keep it.” (U.S. Senate, Finance Committee, Bill Mark-Up, 9/24/09)

Sen. Durbin (D-IL): “This bill before us on the Senate floor makes it clear that if you have an insurance policy that you like, you can keep it. If you like the doctor that you're currently doing business with, you can continue to use that doctor.” (Teleconference, 12/4/09)

Sen. Baucus (D-MT): “That is why one of the central promises of health care reform has been and is: If you like what you have, you can keep it. That is critically important. If a person has a plan, and he or she likes it, he or she can keep it.” (Congressional Record, S.7676, 9/29/10)

Sen. Levin (D) Mi. April 6, 2012: And it is important to remember that for those who already have health insurance, the law allows you to keep your existing plan.

Sen. Merkley (D) Or. Nov. 11, 2013: If you like your current health insurance, you will be able to keep it. And you will be able to continue seeing your current doctor.

You missed the point. He brought up those quotes to illustrate the fact that, despite all of these Democratic politicians declaring otherwise, the truth is that the law DOES NOT ensure that Americans are able to keep their own healthcare plans or doctors if they like them. These were blunt lies that prove these Democratic politicians were either ignorant or deliberately dishonest on this issue. All of them. Plain and simple. Black and white. Clear as crystal.

The entire point of Benghazi is NOT the body count specifically. The major issue with the Benghazi incident is not that several Americans were killed, it is that the current administration KNEW that the embassy Benghazi was under attack, but REFUSED to send aid because the administration wanted to deny that an actual terrorist attack had taken place in order to blame the situation on a video just to save political face. THAT is why people are angry about Benghazi.

Only a democrat at this point.

Look, the GOP has to realize that right now in order to win a primary, a GOP contender has to tack right. And he has to do it publicly.

This scares away the center to such a degree that moderates will either not show up or vote for someone they don't like that much (Obama) over someone (even a moderate) that makes far right statements in order to be nominated (Romney).

They simply can't win a national election right now unless some outside circumstance severely changes the landscape. An unpopular democrat like Obama still wins by more then 3% and more then 100 electoral votes.

It is actually exactly reality. It's what has happened in 08 and 12 and the electorate is not getting whiter and more conservative. It's going the opposite direction and getting more diverse. When you have people talking about jesus and abortion, that scares a lot of people away. This is why the GOP can't win minorities or women, and why they're going to only get into the White House on a visitor's pass.

What is the GOP path to victory?

Look, every election the US voting population has 1-2% less white voters and 1-2% more voters who are not white. This is just plain demographics, not slant.

Romney won white voters 60%-40% over Obama. That is the MOST any GOP candidate has won the white vote by since Bush beat Dukakis. The difference is that white voters made up 85% of the electorate at that time and now they are 72% of the electorate. Hispanics were 3% in '88... they're 10% now. And both times the democrat got around 70% of their votes. Blacks were 10% in '88 and 13% now... and both times the Democrat got around 90% of the vote. All the other non-whites were 2% of the voters in '88 and 5% now... and the democrats got 70% of their votes.

The GOP has to take positions that don't alienate minorities. IF they don't, then those numbers the democrats pull (90% of blacks, 70% of all the other non-whites) won't change. And those groups will gain 1-2% of the electorate EVERY election cycle.

A GOP has to take moderate positions on things like immigration or affirmative action to have a shot in the general election. But doing either of those things sinks you in the GOP primaries. They have no chance at all until they can nominate a person without them having to alienate minorities.

Bush in '88 and Romney in '12 carried the same percentages of each of the racial groups. Bush won 53-46. Romney lost 47-51. That's reality.

        March 12, 2014 at 10:20 am |
      • dave

The reason 0bama won was that the black minorities can out in MUCH great percentage to vote than they have historically, and the same with youth. Without these two demographics coming out in HUGE numbers and voting 0bama would have lost to even Romney (or McCain, amazingly enough). Bhilliary is too white to get the blacks to come out and vote for her. She is WAY too old to excite the youth, plus her record when she was serving doesn't inspire anyone. Just being female is not enough to get people out to vote for her.

    1. The Tea Party would burn itself trying to handle fire, never mind molotov cocktails.
    2. The police can handle the Tea Party. You don't need the Virginia National Guard.
    3. Ted Cruz needs to answer questions about his citizenship, given that he really was born in a different country.
    4. The president is the one who can declare martial law, not the Virginia Nation Guard. If the Virginia National Guard wants to go over the president's head, remember how the Civil War turned out.
    5. Russia has its hands full at the moment.
    6. Republicans can't even repeal Obamacare, the only thing that they have been working on since 2010 (other than shutting down the government, that is), so Hillary has nothing to worry about.

Actually the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia has the authority to declare martial law in the case of a rebellion in Virgina and deploy the National Guard to quell such rebellion. The President could then invoke the Insurrection Act if Virginia's state forces needed aid and either federalize the National Guard or deploy federal forces into Virginia. Posse Comitatus, the favorite phrase mentioned by would-be traitors dreaming of taking over the government would not apply when we're talking about a formal insurrection.

Thanks for the information. I was just having some fun at malanka's expense. Between the president and the Virginia National Guard, the president is the one who can declare martial law. Congress can declare martial law too. The Virginia National Guard itself cannot declare martial law unless it wants to start a rebellion.

A couple weeks ago Hillary came out and said she hasn't driven a car in 16 years. The Republicans are going to have a field day with that. Now, maybe she wanted to say that now and get it out of the way so it won't be a problem later during the campaign. But a simpler way to solve that problem would have been to get in her car and drive a couple blocks. So I don't think she's planning to run.

Nice to see Begala back on the show. I wonder if they couldn't work him into the regular lineup somehow.

As a former First Lady, she has round the clock secret service protection, so it is pretty hard to drive a car and be protected. Also 16 years would put us in 1998, and she WAS the First Lady then, so I don't know how she drove a car then. Also she lives in NYC, where it is very common to not drive. Trust me, I live there.

It's not really an issue. Hil-dog has been planning to run since she conceded to Obama in '08.

HillaryBenghazi will be wearing diapers and having somebody feed her by the time the next election rolls around. A sevety year old that looks like eighty. I want someone as president that has respect from the world, Hillary doesn't have that quality. Failure.

    Ukraine SAT question:
If the Tea Party threw molotov cocktails at the White House and President Obama called in the Virginia National Guard to restore peace
1)Would Ted Cruz or President Obama be the legitimate leader?
    2) Could the Virginia National Guard declare marshal law until elections were held in November?
    3) Would Russia butt in and declare war?

DC actually has it's own National Guard though an attack on the White House would be an act of rebellion against the Federal Government. Under the Insurrection Act, the President could federalize the national guards of neighboring states and/or deploy federal troops to quell the insurrection.

Ted Cruz would be dead and a whole bunch of Republican voters would be dead or in jail for the midterms. That... would be a very good day for me.

“Gone are the days when the Republican Party used to put forward big bold visionary stuff…We’re gonna have problems politically until we get some sort of third party movement or some alternate voice out there that can put forward new ideas.”
    ~Jon Huntsman,

The fat cats in DC need to cut their OWN salaries, benefits and
pensions while they are at it. I know, I won’t be holding my breath for
that one!!. (They vote on their own raises, healthcare, and pension
plans, and we are left with the bill)

The Tea Party and other extremists are destroying the GOP, and
permanently stripping it of any credibility in the minds of thinking
people. In 10 years time, provided they don't get us all killed, we'll
be wondering how anyone could ever buy such a bill of spoiled goods.

.How come politicians never join the military
when they are sending other people children to war? To the politicians
War is good for business invest your self and own your own children, wife husband! But
certainly big business gets in there because wars are very profitable to
    certain big businesses.

Who can beat Hillary? – A better and more important question is who can HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE and THE REAL AMERICAN ECONOMY? – It's certainly Not Hillary! – But I don't hear anyone else even willing talk about us taking the difficult and absolutely necessary actions to start turning our country around.

Our politician's talk is cheap and meaningless! – When will these people finally wake up and step up with real ideas and real action, instead of just meaningless talk and tokenism?

The ONLY REAL FIX for our great country is to RAISE REVENUE, by Bringing Back Businesses and Jobs to TAX-PAYING AMERICAN CITIZENS.

This is the only way that Americans are going to be able to "Get a Raise" and sustain it. The more jobs and businesses that we bring back to tax-paying Americans citizens, the healthier our real economy will be and the more likely it will be for the American people to keep up and possibly even start to move forward again.

Unfortunately most of our politicians are a joke – Only it's not so funny, because over the past several decades, all they've been doing is screwing the American people, by stalling, spending, removing protections and allowing illegal aliens to continue to pour in and American jobs and industry to pour out, and all while collecting their American tax-payer funded pay checks, benefits and whatever else they get on the side from their various lobbyist friends.

It seems to me that over the last 2-3 decades that both parties were always able to distract and polarize voters with insignificant peripheral social issues like gay marriage and abortion, which got most voters so caught up in the BS that they'd always lose sight of the bigger picture. If Ross Perot had been elected president in 1992, the American people and the real American economy would have been much better off today! I and many other people, who were able to see through all of the left vs right BS, did vote for Perot, because he was straight forward and just used common sense. He cared about his country and the American people.

We'd really all be better off by just cutting through the BS and all the my team vs your team name calling nonsense and really focus on America and improving the future of the American people.

Once they're elected, our leaders should be working together for the good of our country and our citizens by using combinations of the best ideas from both sides versus just trying to make the other side look bad so that they'll lose the next election. – How's that been working out for the American People and the Real American Economy?

All the nonsense just allows the puppet-masters to continue to do what's best for them at the expense of the American people while we're polarized and distracted.

But, let's face it – Neither party is actually running our country – Powerful puppet-masters play both sides to make sure that they get what they want. Unfortunately what they want is not usually in the best interest of the majority of the American people. (American citizens)

The so called "Global Market Place" is not a level playing field. Companies may have made higher profits by "outsourcing", but they've been putting middle class Americans who are a good part of the world's customer base out of work.

The American people need American leaders who will start putting some sensible measures in place to stem the tide or this is going to continue to have a devastating effect on the United States of America and the American people.

Aren't there at least a handful of these powerful puppet-masters that are fellow Americans with enough of a conscience, guts and loyalty to America and their fellow Americans to start trying to turn this trend around?

If there aren't any, we're screwed.

The bottom line is that "Our Government" has to protect domestic industry and the jobs that those industries provide. If they do that, the rest will take care of itself.

Bringing manufacturing back to the US not only gives jobs to the US citizens who would be working in those manufacturing facilities, but to the people that would be working in the businesses that would spring up all around them. This should also include the safe harvesting, production and distribution of our own natural energy here in the USA, rather than paying for fuel from countries where they hate us. Let's keep that money and those jobs here in the US.

The “Global Market Place” is not a level playing field! The whole idea of the tariffs is so we can pay our factory workers a decent wage and not be blown out by these other countries where they don’t play by the same rules. We may have to pay a bit more for products made here in the USA by US citizens, but at least we'll still have jobs and a future for our children.

The bottom line is that “Our Government” has to protect domestic industry and the jobs that those industries provide. If they do that, the rest will take care of itself.

We may have to pay a bit more for products made here in the USA by US citizens, but at least we'll still have jobs and a future for our children.

The lack of businesses and good jobs in the USA is what's really going to rob us, our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of the potential of a prosperous or even decent future.

It's all happened because, over the last 25-years, our government has allowed our country's industries to get sucked out to China, India, Mexico, etc and allowed illegal aliens and H-1B foreigners to come into our country and take away tax-paying Americans jobs and drive down domestic prices and wages.

It has all happened way too fast – Our government leaders should have put measures in place to make it slower, so that it wouldn't devastate our country, which has no chance when competing with other countries that don't play by the same rules or have pay scales that are even remotely close.

That's where our government leaders have to step up and put some sensible measures and incentives in place to keep jobs here in the USA or the real economy and infrastructure of the country we love will be destroyed along with the future of the American people.

Nowadays it's obviously not about being either lazy or uneducated as many try to profess, but about wages, expenses and regulations that are not even remotely close to the wages, expenses and regulations in our country.

If more people would have listened to Ross Perot back in 1992, America wouldn't be in this mess.

Regardless of what the Free-Traitors keep trying to sell us, we can see what's real. The American People need to just trust their own instincts, common sense and what they've seen actually going on all around them versus all of the nonsense that the free-traitors are still trying to sell us.

The American people will need good jobs with health-care benefits in order to be able to pay for the services of those educated doctors, lawyers, college professors, etc. – It can't all be chiefs and no Indians. There is an equally important place for both of them in America.

The ONLY REAL FIX for our great country is to RAISE REVENUE, by Bringing Back Businesses and Jobs to TAX-PAYING AMERICAN CITIZENS.

The American People need Our Leaders to start remembering that they are elected by the Citizens of the United States of America to represent the interests of those citizens and the country itself.

They are NOT elected by or to represent the Global Market Place, Lobbyist or Foreign citizens!

I hear you, but unfortunately some distracted Americans still don't get it, especially not our leaders. It's very important that we continue to be the unsilent majority until our messages of common sense are heard and that our leaders finally start putting some sensible measures in place to stem the tide. Otherwise this is going to continue to have a devastating effect on America and the American people.

hey newt, on the question of whether the president should be taking a vacation while there is turmoil in the Ukraine. first what's that got to do with us? secondly, wasn't it George w. bush who was playing golf while our troops were getting murdered in Iraq and said the following, "now watch this drive?" your memory seems to be lacking when it comes to history fat boy. and just how many vacations did bush and Cheney take while those same Americans were getting killed in Iraq? from all of the right wing verbal feces that the republicans have been spewing at that conference, no wonder their favorability is at 28%. one after another come out criticizing the president, yet none of them seem to know how to fix the problems facing us today. they talk the talk, but when it comes to walking the walk. they fall short and far from it. as for a candidate for the 016 election, there really isn't that much to chose from because they all are nothing more than racist right wing losers. and if Scott walker then the Koch brothers will be very disappointed and have been spending all of their money for nothing.
