I think the big issue is that people consider stuff done online or on their phones as the same thing as what they do at home.
And that's simply not the case. Once you are connected to a network of computers, what you do is in essence public. It's the same thing as going out in a crowded street and speaking. Your speech at that point isn't private... even if you are talking quietly. Anyone can hear and they are not doing wrong if they listen.
Just because you are physically in your home, doesn't mean it's private. Not if you're doing it on a network. The internet is a really crowded street. Keep your voice down and you might not be noticed, but if you are the person who listens is not to blame... you are for talking publicly about something you wanted to be private.
We can't even keep track of ILLEGALS coming in to this country. Heck let's hire UPS or Fed-Ex after all they can track a tiny package anywhere in the world.
Old Gunderson not sure he understand this but he try. In the Constitution there is clause for Administration to provide for the common defense. That will include collecting intelligence. That has been going on long before the country was founded. In this case old Gunderson not sure but believe instead of going to a source it is just collected so an agency can do an investigation, if the need arises instead of going to phone company. In that case it is Constitutional. In the process if someone's Constitutional Rights are violated there is the Constitutional Remedy in place to correct it. Now children there is always the chance of your rights being violated such as the IRS holding back Tax Free Exemptions for certain people and groups, and not much you can do about it, except change your vote, next election.
There must be more then me ever watched Harrison Ford In Clear And Present Danger! Also I was stationed on that same base where they listened to people talk on the phone.
So far, all security as well as threats to privacy have been directed at citizens of this country with no proof of their being any interest in those who are in reality a threat to those citizens living here. This administration appears to be using every tool against the citizens of this country in favor of itself. Only upon being caught in the act does it stop.
Guess what chickens? You are getting a few more foxes to guard the hen house!
The US can provide Security without watching EVERYTHING we do. People don't realize that it's not just phone records, it's bank statements, dmv, credit card, literally EVERYTHING YOU DO IS BEING MONITORED. What amazes me is that the Government doesn't protect its borders...yet they want to track everything. OUR TAX DOLLARS are spent for this. It's stupid and against the 4th amendment!!!
As long as this administration insists on allowing unchecked immigration at our borders and greater protections for those who have stolen their way into our country, citizens will be in need of protections from that administration. Additionally, this administration fails to value those who have made this country as great as it used to be. It would rather sacrifice the rights and privacy of anyone who has made this their home for more than a generation in exchange for those who have no knowledge of their own rights and history.
After listening to the speech this morning it sounds like there using the President as some easy spread in this Horse & Pony Show to Mislead Americans that Everything is going to be okay when in fact Nothing Changes with this Policy, So Expect the NSA to Continue to Violate your Constitutional Rights and Remain a Unconstitutional Criminal Organization! F.Y.I. the so called Cyber Attacks and Hacks that have been going on like Target and many others are all and nothing more then the doings of the *(NSA)* trying to save face on there Spying of the American People!
That ACLU lady was brave for calling Snowden a hero. Maybe if a terrorist dressed as a normal citizen walked in and blew up the HQ, she would wake up!
Wow. 49% and 51%. So close, and so divided.
Is this a partisan issue?
Just watched crossfire , and I couldn't find the line between what each side was hoping for what.???
Metadata, wow so my question is ,most of our present danger lies in being able to forecast and contain terrorism? am I right?
